Here Goes the BOOM! Home Run Derby Animation Enhancement.
In 2015, MLB adjusted the mechanics for the Home Run Derby transitioning to a 4:00 countdown clock and bonus distance baseballs as a way to reinvigorate the event. Gameplan Creative has worked closely with MLB departments to support the new game format with energized animations custom branded to T-Mobile and colors in sync with game uniforms of the competing eight batters. The comprehensive broadcast and in-stadium approach has proved very successful with ratings up 26 percent in 2015 and with HR Derby winning the ratings battle for Monday evening, July 11th, 2016.
