Chicago Blackhawks: "Never Forget Your Roots" Spots

Gameplan Creative was commissioned by the Chicago Blackhawks to produce :60 and :30 sec. spots for “Never Forget Your Roots” commercials. These sports captured two of the teams’ young superstars, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane making a surprise visit at a local Chicagoland rink, in full Blackhawks gear, during a 10-year old team practice, totally unannounced to the kids. Gameplan worked with a five-camera production crew to document the event from different perspectives; from the SUV pulling up to the rink to an above ice camera scaffold to two on ice shooters, all to insure not one key moment was missed. After the shoot Gameplan editors went back and compiled the best shots, b-roll and audio and then crafted them into short “video scrapbooks” of this special day for the Blackhawks and mite teams and their friends and family. The two spots ran on local Comcast SportsNet and WGN-TV as well as on the center hung scoreboard at Chicago Blackhawks home games and streamed on Blackhawks.com TV.
